New educational interactive games for schoolchildren, partly developed by Poole-based Redweb, have received rave reviews by schools and education media.
Young Explorer is a rich reference resource for schools that includes lots of games and interactive activities. It is available either online or on CD for use with Key Stage 1 pupils by international publishing group Harcourt Education.
Redweb developed various activities and dynamics which allow the publisher to change content such as the functionality of games, graphics, text, background and animations.
Redweb's David Burton said: "Young Explorer is all about making learning fun for young children. We worked on both the subject-based and literacy-based sections covering topics such as artists, countries and animals."
"Harcourt launched Young Explorer Online in jan and feedback from schoolteachers is that this is the best-received of all its 'Explore' modules to date and education IT journalists have responded very positively to it."
A spokesperson for Harcourt confirmed there has been extensive industry interest in Young Explorer, which it says fulfils a need in the market for meaningful ICT activities for younger pupils.
Redweb is now working on new projects for Harcourt which are due to be launched later this year.
