The work the students were displaying was current and imaginative but also demonstrated a strong grasp of the technical and design requirements needed in today's digital agencies.
As MD of a growing business I am aware we are constantly interviewing for new design staff and I find the Bournemouth student's work in direct contrast to many of the graduates we see.
All too often students focus on irrelevant leftfield pieces, they can't visualise their ideas quickly and have a lack of core design principals.
I hope other universities review their focus and reassess what UK agencies need, as without talented and grounded individuals coming into the industry the recruitment issues will remain.
