The new website complies with the new disability Discrimination Act and fulfils Bobby 1 requirements - regulator Bobby tests web pages using the guidelines established by the World Wide Web Consortium´s (W3C) Access Initiative.

The website is flexible enough to be read by people using special browsers and screen readers without actually affecting its appearance for normally-sighted viewers.

Poole-based Redweb built in an improved navigation structure and page design on The Mortgage Works' former frames-based site to allow it to expand and become "future-proof" for amendments.

Senior web designer Tony Hill said: "We took The Mortgage Works' new corporate identity, which had been designed for print, and mapped it for use on the web successfully without diluting its impact."

The website integrates the company´s Key Facts Illustrations system which automatically produces quotes for intermediaries. And it incorporates an increased clarity of information, as specified by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

Redweb has previously developed an intranet for Portman featuring separate access for its head office users and its branches.
