The economic climate is officially gloomy, but not everyone is feeling the immediate effects. While several web agencies have been making staff redundancies in the past few weeks, digital agency Redweb, whose head office is in Bournemouth is on an active recruitment campaign.

Redweb is one of the UK's fastest growing digital agencies, specialising in the design and build of websites. Andrew Henning, CEO and founder commented 'We have been watching the economic climate for some time now, but despite some rumblings, the digital landscape still has large pockets of opportunity. We have had several high profile wins over the last few months in government and financial services, and had extensions to longer term existing projects all of which mean we are beating our projections for this year. I am obviously aware that some other agencies are shedding jobs but we are actively recruiting good people to meet demand. Part of the reason for the continued growth might be that we focus on existing business as much as winning new contracts. Some of our clients have been with us for over 5 years, and that's some going in such a competitive industry. We are not complacent though, and the management team here is monitoring conditions carefully'.

Stuart Pool, Client Services Director who oversees the Project Management and Account Management teams said. 'This recruitment drive is part of our planned growth for the year, but has been accelerated by recent big wins'. Luke Platt, Production Director adds 'We have taken on several new designers recently, but the real challenge, as many agencies face in this industry, is finding good web developers. We have strengthened our relationship with Bournemouth University and the Media School so that we can feed in practical advice about the skills that digital agencies look for in graduates, and can offer employment opportunities to the right people.'
