Digital agency Redweb has produced a short Flash movie for the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) website to explain its checking process.
The lively 3 minute 55 second movie clearly shows each step, from why applicants may need a security check to how to get the results and explains the timescales of the checking process.
Mark Favager, Head of Communications at CRB comments: "It is aimed at easing people's concerns of why they are being extensively checked, stopping unnecessary calls to the CRB Callcentre and improving communication and understanding."
He adds ”It has extras to make it user friendly such as optional voiceover and the facility to click selectively if a user needs to review a particular section quickly.”
It also highlights the importance of the checking process and explains why certain questions may be asked.
The CRB checks help organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors to identify candidates who may be unsuitable to work with children or other vulnerable members of society.
For registered bodies, such as large employers, the largely image-based movie was made available on CD. The movie is also available to download from the website.
