Alongside the brand development Redweb produced website, printed material and web advertising banners.

The award was made by the eSuperbrands Council, a group of 14 industry specialists who are either experts in marketing, managing, creating or reviewing internet brands. They score each brand based on their opinion of the brand’s strength and credentials within the UK.

Its recent research found a staggering 89% of people go online everyday and that consumers said the logo was the most important feature when recognising online brands - and that nearly 70% of consumers looking to purchase a good quality product or service would only buy from a website with a recognised brand name/reputation.

Redweb Managing Director Andrew Henning said: “With the proliferation of websites reputation and brand image are becoming ever more important in helping consumer choice. eSuperbrands are brands which exist purely online and have become extremely popular and successful within this environment.

“Our branding work for 1837online had significant impact during the launch of its online business and has contributed to the way it has developed. The company is very happy with the result and we will shortly be working with them on some further branding ideas.”

1837online.com provides internet-based genealogical services to professional and non-professional researchers. It holds an entire copy of the indexes of Birth, Marriages and Deaths for England and Wales from 1837 (when registration commenced) - as well as a range of census offerings and other major family history datasets.
