The current political climate and pension fears may have something to do with it too!

Amicus is the largest private sector trade union in the United Kingdom, with over one million members in the public and private sectors.

It represents workers in both the public and private sectors and aims to improve their standard of living and the quality of their lives through effective relationships with employers and government.

Amicus offers representation and advice at work, handling work problems and grievances against employers through its shop stewards, full time officers and legal team. Members have legal protection for cases such as unfair dismissal, insolvency, discrimination and harassment.

The website now attracts membership applications from sectors outside of traditional manufacturing and industry such as IT and Finance.

Redweb developed the union's first website when it was formed in 2004 following an official merger of the AEEU and MSF unions. The site provides members and visitors with a valuable resource of information and services... and now the ability to join online.

Redweb continues to work with Amicus to develop further website functionality.
