Redweb selected to redesign the Science Museum's homepage
One of the world's most iconic and best loved museums, the Science Museum, has commissioned award-winning digital agency Redweb to redesign its website homepage.
Having won a competitive pitch process, the Bournemouth-based agency will deliver an intuitive, innovative and welcoming new gateway for users of the site, which receives more than 12 million visits a year.
Responsive design will be at the heart of this project, with the homepage re-imagined to deliver an equally engaging and enhanced experience for all users, regardless of viewing device and screen size.
Redweb's exceptional knowledge of user-centric design will be integral to seamlessly integrating the all-new homepage with the rest of the museum's site, which is set for further redevelopment at a later stage. In addition to general museum information and a shop, the site's content includes educational games like the recently launched Futurecade suite, and resources such as Brought to Life, an in-depth sub-section dedicated to the history of medicine.
Recognised as the UK's Most Innovative Digital Agency at the Econsultancy Awards for the last two years running, Redweb is an ideal partner to complement the creativity that the museum shows in entertaining and educating through its online presence.
Redweb CEO Andrew Henning said: "We're delighted to be working with the Science Museum. It's a fantastic place to visit and a valuable hub of discovery and learning. With this project, we can further harness these qualities on the museum's site and deliver an exciting new window into all the exceptional online content it has to offer."
The Science Museum is the UK's most popular destination dedicated to science, technology, engineering, medicine, design and enterprise, and welcomes almost 3 million visits every year.
