User Experience Consultant

We have an exciting opportunity for a User Experience Consultant to join our growing User Experience team. Reporting to our Head of User Experience you will be key in leading both qualitative and quantitative research, solutions definition and web optimisation projects.

You will also be pivotal in driving continuous improvements in our facilities, methods, services and products.

The post involves:

  • Leading usability testing projects providing advice and guidance to other members of the team
  • Preparing time and cost estimates for usability projects
  • Prototyping for clients and the relevant project teams
  • Completing usability evaluations and making recommendations
  • Conducting user interviews and organising and facilitating collaborative workshops to assess website usability and effectiveness
  • Completing wireframes to encompass navigation, functionality, page content and usability
  • Carrying out research and analysis in the latest interactive studies and reporting back to the Head of User Experience/colleagues/clients where necessary
  • Ensuring suitable communication/updates are being provided by all UX team members associated with a project to internal and external clients.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant degree/masters level or relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of web standards and practices
  • An in-depth understanding of usability principles
  • Experience working in a commercial hands-on usability/user experience role, preferably as a consultant
  • Hands-on experience of organising and facilitating user research and analysing the results
  • The ability to turn research insights into both strategic and design level actionable recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience of working in a digital agency environment
  • Evidence of successfully implementing business requirements with high quality usability elements.
