Front End Developer

Redweb is seeking a versatile front-end expert, capable of taking design concepts and translating them into standards-friendly code utilising current web technologies including HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery.

Using advanced CSS3 and HTML 5 web technologies that work today, you will be part of a talented team of designers, developers and user experience practitioners in a fast-paced environment creating the templates and interactions for CMS driven websites.

You will create cross-browser solutions that separate structure, presentation and behaviour using semantic markup, CSS and unobtrusive JavaScript. Additionally, you will be well-versed in techniques for building to accessibility standards and dedicated to producing high-quality and elegant solutions that meet or exceed our blue chip clients requirements and expectations.

Based in our Bournemouth office the successful candidate will:

  • Have a degree/HND level in a related discipline
  • Produce clean, error-free, well-documented, and standards-compliant front end solutions
  • Be versatile and efficient using Photoshop for web production (guides, asset management, optimisation strategies)
  • Be expert and up-to-date HTML/JavaScript/CSS coding skills
  • Be experienced in working with Object-Oriented JavaScript and will have knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (e.g. jQuery)
  • Have a strong knowledge of web standards, CSS-based (table-less) design and cross-browser compatibility
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively with design, project management and back end development teams
  • Have a desire to deliver a high-quality user experience and a passion for digital
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a thorough knowledge of web standards and accessibility
  • Have experience of SEO
  • Have experience working with Content Management Systems
  • Have an eye for detail and alignment as well as a solid understanding of usability standards.
