Transport for London

The challenge

To enhance the TFL graduate micro-site to improve online enquiry routing and relevant applications for that specific user group.

The approach

A big part of this was a focus on usability. When researched, many users believed that TFL was mainly about buses and tubes. We used multimedia to add interest to attract candidates to the diversity of what TFL have to offer and increase the chances of candidates being better informed before starting an application process.

The result

Four Flash movies play a key part in improving the interest and usability of the micro-site. On the home page a short movie gives a general introduction to the company.

The section of the site that gives information about the many parts of the company uses interactive animation to make browsing more interesting for the user. The addition of the ‘Scheme Matcher’ allows users to feel more involved with the site whilst ensuring non-relevant applications are minimized for the client.

Finally the application process itself is made more interesting by using an interactive timeline that explains each step of the process.
