The challenge
To integrate the launch of the new Sky + and Sky HD products to the many sectors that make up their b2b customer base via their website.
The approach
Usability was key to this piece of work as the user audience is very diverse: from pub landlords, facilities managers to hotel groups. At the same time the product they need is very specific to each one. We had to make sure that every type of user was catered for in our design.
The information which needed to be communicated to the user was also quite complex, so it was important to lay the information out in such a way that it was easily digestible.
In addition to this, the volume of new content meant the website needed to be thoroughly tested to ensure all bases had been covered.
Our approach in this case was to break the content down by product type, giving the user clear calls to action to the different packages available. On the package pages, coloured boxes and navigational aids were used to separate and simplify the content.
The result
We created a practical and usable solution to the problem of complex product set across multiple customer types.
In the first month after launch over 20% of contracts downloaded were for the new products.
