The challenge
Redweb were commissioned in 2000 to design, develop and maintain an online presence for IPS (formerly UKPS) and to provide ongoing account management and strategic consultancy.
The approach
During the course of our relationship we have developed a number of incarnations of their web site and have constantly evolved the site in line with the changing requirements of IPS. This has involved us gaining a thorough understanding of their operation and internal processes, as well as establishing good relationships with their key personnel. This is the key to success with such a complex organisation and multiple stakeholders from branding and marketing communications to policy, technical, security and procurement departments.
We have strived to ensure that the website has always been in line with advances in web design & development, including, in particular, increasing demands for higher levels of usability, accessibility and security. We also give advice regarding the best practice for the implementation of specific content or functionality.
Working closely with IPS, we have a well-defined update process for day-to-day changes to the site (including their requirement for all content to be translated into Welsh). We also have regular account meetings to address general operational issues and strategy sessions where we look at the future plans for IPS and how their online communications will work within those plans.
The result
Our relationship with IPS has been one of the most successful client relationships in Redweb's history. We have delivered excellent results for the client and they have benefited from having a web presence that meets their business requirements.
Who is the Identity & Passport Service (IPS)?
The IPS provide passport services and in the future, as part of the National Identity Scheme, ID cards for British and Irish nationals resident in the United Kingdom.
